JCB Ecomax T4 Base Engines
The JCB approach to meeting the massive challenge of Tier 4 emissions legislation was to look upon it has an opportunity for innovation and come up with a solution that has real advantages for our customers.
The new Tier 4 engine requires no after-treatment – because JCB use the emissions ‘engine-out’, and more importantly do not need to use a DPF, this offers real opportunities for our customers.
Customer Advantages:
- Lower fuel consumption
- No additional servicing
- Improved reliability
- No damage risk due to high sulphur fuel
- Small engine package, hence a more effective machine design
The JCB Ecomax engine range has been extended both up and down in terms of power output, with additional rating at 55kW & 129kw. JCB Ecomax engines offer high torque at low speeds and many ratings offer constant power down to 1500-1600rpm allowing fuel-efficient matching of transmissions & hydraulic system.
The existing 4.4 litre engine is now joined by a brand-new Ecomax version of the recently-launched 4.8 litre Dieselmax engine that produces up to 129kW, enabling the replacement of 6 cylinder engines in some heavy equipment applications.
As you would expect from JCB, our solution puts the customer first - when these engines go into our mid-range machines in 2012, customers will benefit from lower fuel consumption, reduced servicing requirements and improved reliability - all of which reduces the overall cost of ownership.
