Mahindra Powertrain Division 320was formed to leverage Mahindra’s engineering excellence to deliver world-class powertrain solutions for global OEMs catering to automotive, agriculture, power generation & industrial equipment sectors. The division develops products that reflects 'innovation led technology' with a special focus on the 'Customer First' philosophy, which is the foundation of the company.
Mahindra has wide range of engines starting from 0.6 litres to 9.3 litres of diesel and gasoline engines along with powertrains up to 320N-m range. Mahindra Powertrain Division boasts of production capacity of manufacturing over 750,000 engines & 350,000 transmissions per year with 11 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants across India at multiple locations. It’s well connected, local vendor base volume scale helps it offer high competitiveness in global market.
Powertrain Division’s strong R & D center, Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), is spread over 125 acres in Chennai, India. Over 500 powertrain specialists and 2000+ vehicle integration team helps to create world class products. State-of-the-art chassis dyno, vehicle testing, noise testing labs help develop some of the world's most powerful & capable powertrain systems. Mahindra engines conform to the most stringent emission norms by qualifying to meet Euro 5, Euro 6 & EPA Tier IV norms.
Modern manufacturing practices like Lean, Kaizen, Poka-yoke and well trained manpower ensures defect-free quality products. MRV co-creates the applications with its customers to excel in product innovation, advanced technology solutions & cost leadership thereby accelerating time-to-market the product.
Apart from providing Powertrain solutions, Mahindra Powertrain Division also manufactures diesel generators under the Mahindra “Powerol” brand name. Mahindra Powerol is one of the leading genset manufacturers in India for the range from 5kVA to 200kVA. Trusted by all the Telecom majors in India, Mahindra Powerol is known for its fuel efficiency and quick customer response. In a little over a decade it has expanded its footprint pan India and globally in South East Asia, Middle East and African countries.
